We will be keeping all of our existing space where we have been for five years and adding all of the space where Reel Foods currently resides.
We will have over 6000 square feet, which will double the size of our current space!
Way more visibility from Capitol Blvd.
With one less business in the building, you will have way less competition for spaces in our parking lot! How great is that?<
We are shooting for a late April to early May opening. There is a lot that needs to happen so we are not nailing down an exact date until we have made sizeable progress.
Consignment and second hand recycled gear will always be our mainstay. However, there are certain items that we get asked for all the time and folks never seem to bring in on consignment. You can expect us to start stocking things like high quality, but budget priced sleeping bags, backpacking tents, headlamps, climbing gear, camp stoves and fuel, bike tubes and locks, snowshoes, avalanche beacons, etc.
Now, instead of cashing out your store credit from the gear you sold with us, you can buy the gear you want right here.
Your 10% store credit bonus will still apply making it that much easier to keep those dollars in Boise supporting the local economy.
Even if we don't stock what you are looking for, we will easily be able to order it in for you.
If you have been in the store recently or gotten one of our monthly emails, you have seen the first retail line of skis we are carrying. If not, let me briefly tell you who they are. Sego skis are 100% handmade in Idaho and they are making some of the most exciting skis on the planet. We just completed three days of on the snow demos at Brundage and Bogus and sold multiple pairs on the spot to people who had never heard of the company. They are that good. Go check out their website by clicking the logo below and then come in the store to see them in person. You're going to start seeing a lot of these around and Boise Gear Collective is the place to get them.
We are building a bike service shop for the summer of 2018. We are super excited to have Mason, a seasoned bike mechanic, on board to head up this new part of the business.
New Online Consignment Portal
Also new will be an online consignment portal. This interfaces directly with our software so you can check the status of your account from any device. We'd still love to see y'all at the store in person, but it will be nice for you to be able to pull up your account online any time, immediately know how much credit is on your account and see what's been selling. Many of you have asked for this feature over the years and it's finally happening.
Lastly, and this is a big one, we will be changing our name to Boise Gear Collective ! This is a change that we have thought long and hard about, and we feel it better represents who we are, what we offer, and what we're growing into. We are all about Boise, outdoor gear, and the collective effort that the goes into making this place what it is. We could not exist without the gear from you, the community.
While we are changing our name and making a major evolution as a company, we are keeping all the basic elements that have made us great over the years. Same place(but WAY bigger), same owner, same management, same employees, same funny and entertaining things written on our tags all over the store. However, we are now bigger and better. We are the Boise Gear Collective.
